Type C – Cavity Drain System

A Type C cavity drain system manages water that enters or passes through below-ground structures, rather than relying solely on preventing it from getting in. A waterproof membrane is installed to the internal surfaces, creating a cavity that allows water to drain safely to a designated collection point, such as a drainage channel or sump, where it can be discharged.

This approach provides a controlled method of managing water and helps protect internal spaces from moisture ingress. It is particularly suited to basements and below-ground structures where ongoing water management, accessibility and long-term maintainability are important considerations.

Key benefit: Rather than simply trying to keep water out, a Type C system provides a managed and maintainable way of dealing with water.
